Project Bio

The aim of this project is to develop a polymeric drug delivery system for treatment of stroke. It has been shown that a combination of different growth factors delivered to the stroke region can improve functional recovery through neuroregeneration. In this project, we will investigate the delivery of a combination of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and erythropoietin (EPO) using a minimally-invasive system. The goal is to achieve sustained, localized delivery over an optimal therapeutic window.
