Preamble

The Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, in conjunction with the
Engineering Alumni Association, recognizes Alumni contributions of personal
service to the Faculty, the University or to the community with the Malcolm
F. McGrath Alumni Achievement Award. This award is presented at the annual
Awards Banquet.

This award was proposed in honour of Malcolm McGrath's retirement as
Assistant Dean - Alumni Liaison, to recognize alumni for outstanding
personal service and commitment. Malcolm McGrath was the first Assistant
Dean responsible for alumni affairs and development in the Faculty of
Applied Science and Engineering, and held this position for 17 years. Among
his many accomplishments are the growth of the Annual Fund, the introduction
of the Skule Stage Band and the establishment of the Graditude Program.

Eligibility

One distinguished alumnus/a will be chosen to receive the award each year.
To be eligible, a nominee must fulfill these criteria:.

Selection

The Faculty's Honours and Awards Committee will review nominations and
propose the award winner for ratification by the Engineering Alumni Council.

 Presentation

A certificate is presented at the annual Awards Banquet. As well, a
suitable permanent record of the award, briefly outlining the achievements
of the recipient, is established in a visible location within the Faculty.
