Summer Academy FAQ's: Information for Commuter Students

Q: Where are the classes located?
A: Classroom locations will be included in the pre-course package you receive in mid-June. All classes are located in the Engineering Complex buildings on the St. George campus, University of Toronto

Q: How do I get to the U of T campus?
A: The best way to get to the U of T campus is via the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission). The closest subway stop is Queen's Park Station. From Queen's Park, walk west on College Street and then turn North on St. George. The DEEP office is located in Room 173 at 35 St. George Street, in the Galbraith Building, and all the DEEP courses are held nearby.

For a map of the Toronto subway and all of the TTC bus and streetcar routes, please visit the Toronto Transit Commission website at www.ttc.ca

Q: What happens if I get lost?
A: You will receive a pre-program package in mid-June, and this will include a map of the Engineering complex. You should keep your map with you at all times. Also, the DEEP staff is located in the Galbraith Building, room 173. This office is in the main lobby. You can also phone us at 416-978-3872.

Q: Am I allowed to go off-campus for lunch?
A: No. All DEEP participants must stay on campus for lunch. On the map you receive with your pre-program package, a number of acceptable restaurants and spots to eat lunch have been included; please use these. We encourage you to bring a lunch, however please note you will not have access to a fridge or microwave.

Q: What happens if I have to miss a class, or a day of the program?
A: If you are going to be absent, we ask that you inform the DEEP office via email at engineering@ecf.utoronto.ca, or by phone at 416-978-3872. If you have to leave class early, we ask that you bring a note from your parent or guardian. You will not be permitted to leave your class without permission.
