INTRODUCTION and AGENDA

Welcome to IMEC 2005 – the first annual International Maintenance Excellence Conference, co-organized by the CBM Lab and the Professional Development Centre, both of the University of Toronto.

IMEC is the first Canadian-based international maintenance conference.   Top industry and academic speakers will present each conference theme from two perspectives – professional maintenance practice and maintenance science research. IMEC has been designed to encourage dialogue between these two communities, enhancing the performance of both.

The two-day conference will be followed by one day of optional post-conference workshops.  All conference delegates will receive a complimentary copy of Maintenance Excellence: Optimizing Equipment Life Cycle Decisions (USD 99.75 value).   The conference will be held at 89 Chestnut, a University of Toronto facility, located in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Confirmed keynote speakers include: John Caron, Vice-President, Service, Automation Technologies Division - ABB; Larry Cote, Chairman of the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals; Dr. Richard Dwight, of Australia, who is President of the International Foundation for Research in Maintenance; Dr. Jay Lee, Director, NSF Intelligent Maintenance Systems (IMS) Center at the University of Cincinnati, U.S. and Dr. Andrew Jardine, Principle Investigator at the Condition Based Maintenance Laboratory at the University of Toronto; and Brian Maguire, VP, Ivara.

IMEC 2005 would like to recognize the generous contributions of our Title Sponsor, ABB, and of our Executive Sponsors, Ivara and IBM.
